Red Dead Redemption 2 Free Download Officially Available Until April 27

The Red Dead Redemption series consistently generates buzz, and fans are especially excited about the first game now available on PlayStation 5. But don’t forget – you can currently download Red Dead Redemption 2 for free until April 27, 2026!

Even with excitement building for the next Grand Theft Auto VI, Red Dead Redemption 2 players are eager to grab a free download before it disappears. Since Rockstar hasn’t added much new single-player story content to the Western game after its release, this free offer is for the game’s ever-evolving online multiplayer modes.

New Red Dead Redemption 2 Free Download is Only Available Today

Since March 31st, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been hosting weekly events. Each event features a different challenge and reward, alongside a new addition to the multiplayer Featured Series.

Throughout the first part of April 2026, players could enjoy several events like the Hardcore Takeover, New Hanover, and Bow & Arrow Series, alongside various challenges. Successfully completing a Trader Sale earned players a red Dillehay Hat, reaching Wave 5 in Call to Arms unlocked a blue Prieto Pancho, and joining any two Free Roam Events gave players a 50% discount on any weapon.

Today, April 26th, marks the end of the current in-game challenge. Once midnight arrives, players of Red Dead Redemption 2 will no longer be able to participate in the Hardcore Public Enemy Series, and they won’t receive the North Tumbleweed Treasure Map for crafting something at Gus’ shop anymore.

The final part of the new downloadable content will be available from April 28th to May 5th. During this time, Red Dead Redemption 2 players can compete in the Hardcore Saint Denis Series and receive Shaffer Chaps simply for logging in twice during the week. It’s also the last opportunity to earn five times the rewards for fishing challenges, and three times the RDO$, Gold, and XP on ‘Call to Arms’ missions.

With events happening on November 19th, even longtime fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 might be feeling burnt out. While the game is getting a bit old after eight years, finishing these final events could be a good way to say farewell.
