The early seasons of Daredevil were part of a smaller, self-contained corner of the Marvel universe, with shows like Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and The Punisher, eventually uniting in The Defenders. While it wasn’t always clear if these shows fit into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the upcoming Born Again and other new projects officially place Daredevil and the Defenders firmly within the same timeline as the Avengers and other major MCU stories.

The massive popularity of Squid Game sparked a surge in viewers tuning into shows about survival, like those featuring zombies, disasters, or post-apocalyptic worlds. These series are incredibly immersive, making it easy to imagine being in a desperate fight for survival. Netflix has had some big hits recently, with the latest seasons of Stranger Things and Bridgerton. The fourth season of Bridgerton was released in two parts – the first on January 28th, and the second coming February 26th – and it’s already boosted Netflix’s earnings significantly.

Zahn McClarnon stars as Joe Leaphorn in the popular AMC series inspired by Tony Hillerman’s Leaphorn & Chee novels. The current season, season 4, is based on The Ghostway, and while the story partially takes place in Los Angeles, Leaphorn remains a central character even though he isn’t in this specific book. With season 5 already confirmed before season 4 even aired, the show is clearly successful and has the potential to bring many more of Hillerman’s books to life.
