The movie, based on the popular 2023 video game, is currently the most-watched film on the platform in the United States. It quickly rose to the top after becoming available on April 3, surpassing both long-time favorites and newer releases.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Overcame Negative Reviews and Dominated the Box Office

Mike Schmidt, a former security guard at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, managed to survive terrifying attacks from the restaurant’s animatronic characters. Now, he’s trying to protect his younger sister, Abby, who has surprisingly become friends with them. A year later, his fears are realized when the animatronics return. The sequel to the story will feature returning actors Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, and Elizabeth Lail, alongside new cast members Skeet Ulrich and McKenna Grace.

Despite being a popular streaming title, the upcoming 2025 horror sequel is receiving very negative reviews from critics. Currently, it has a mere 16% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This is actually a lower score than the original Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, which critics weren’t impressed with either, giving it a 33% rating.

Even though critics didn’t like it, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 was a big financial hit. While reviews were mostly negative, fans gave it an 83% approval rating.
