15 Highest Ranked Players In Blue Lock

The players involved in the Japan Football Association’s development program are constantly improving their skills as the competition gets tougher. While Yoichi Isagi is the main character, he starts out less skilled than many of his teammates, and has to work hard to catch up.

Blue Lock focuses on the individual journeys of soccer players as they compete in a series of challenges to improve their skills and earn points. The training is incredibly demanding, pushing everyone to their absolute limits. With their future careers on the line, the pressure is constant. These talented players are all striving to make Japan’s national team and will do whatever it takes to succeed.

Oliver Aiku Plays in Perfect Harmony With His Team

Oliver Aiku isn’t a major player in the early parts of Blue Lock because he’s already the captain of Japan’s Under-20 team. He uses a special playing style called “Libero,” which is flexible and works perfectly with his team’s defense. Following Blue Lock’s victory over the U-20 team, several investors offered their support to Ego Jinpachi, Blue Lock’s coach, and his program. Blue Lock was then revamped to resemble the top five European leagues, and both Blue Lock and the U-20 team were given the opportunity to choose a country for training. Yukimiya opted for Germany and has joined the Bastard München club.

Through consistent top performance, he steadily improved, climbing to 274th, then 266th, 44th, and eventually reaching 8th while playing for Manshine City in England. Once considered a rising star, a leg injury previously hindered his progress. Now fully recovered, Chigiri appears capable of limitless achievement.

Yo Hiori’s Ranking Belies His Sparkling Soccer Talents

Yo Hiori currently plays right-back for Bastard München in Blue Lock. He joined the program just before the Third Selection, starting at rank 27 and improving to #22. While Blue Lock’s rankings show potential, they don’t tell the whole story of these talented players. Hiori’s skills were recognized when he was chosen for the Blue Lock Eleven during a match against Japan’s Under-20 team, showcasing his ability to control the game and position the ball effectively.

Hiori eventually mastered Metavision, a skill essential for top-level strikers. What sets him apart is his ability to analyze the game calmly, even without the usual adrenaline rush. And when he activates his Reflex mode, he can anticipate Isagi’s next move, almost reading his mind.

We learn more about him during the First Selection arc, where he’s part of Team W, one of the top teams. Reo is a versatile player – he can effectively play any position needed, whether it’s defending, attacking, or anything else, making him a true all-rounder.

Mikage appears on the cover of volume eight of Blue Lock and continues to be a prominent character throughout the series. His official ranking—number six—isn’t revealed until chapter 204, at which point he’s chosen to train with Manshine City in England. These recent experiences have allowed Mikage to develop a distinctive and well-deserved playing style.

Rensuke Kunigami Demonstrates His Value as a Wild Card

Rensuke Kunigami is a fiercely competitive player in Blue Lock, initially ranked 291st on Team Z. He’s worked hard to improve beyond his previous abilities. The last stage of the Second Selection throws a curveball into the Blue Lock program, and although Kunigami is cut at this point, he has a chance to rejoin through a special “Wild Card” opportunity instead of being completely eliminated.

Kunigami doesn’t reappear until the very end of the match against the U-20 team, when he rejoins Blue Lock. Now playing as a defensive midfielder for Bastard München, he impresses everyone with his ability to finish plays with either foot – a skill that could significantly boost his soccer career and potentially move him up from his current ranking of #10.

Meguru Bachira Is Certain to Improve by Leaps and Bounds

I watched as Meguru Bachira, another player in Team Z, started out with a pretty low Blue Lock ranking – around 290. He actually stayed near Isagi’s rank for a while, fluctuating between 265, 268, and 270. But things changed quickly! He really took off and ended up as number 16 during the Second Selection.

Honestly, I’m blown away by Bachira’s potential! Forget the Blue Lock rankings for a second – this guy is destined for greatness as a striker, and you can see him getting better all the time. He started with amazing dribbling skills, but he hasn’t stopped there! He’s developed things like Elastic Dribbling and even his own unique Egotistical Style – it’s incredible. Given how important he is to the story, I just know he’s going to keep growing and improving at an insane rate.

Yoichi Isagi Knows What It’s Like to Be Number One

The story of Blue Lock focuses heavily on Yoichi Isagi’s journey. He begins ranked near the bottom – 299 out of 300 players – and faces a tough climb to the top. Throughout the various selection rounds, Isagi steadily improves, moving from rank 274, then 265, and then 267, before making a significant jump to 15th place by excelling early in the Second Selection.

Isagi briefly experiences being the top player, reaching number 1 in the Neo Egoist League. Although he later falls to number 4 by chapter 204, he quickly climbs back up to number 2. Now playing for Bastard München in Germany, he uses his unique skill, the Raumdeuter, to disrupt and defeat opponents.

Ryusei Shido Is Regarded as the Best Possible Striker

Ryusei Shido is a passionate and promising forward. His natural reflexes and dynamic style of play make him a perfect fit for Ego Jinpachi’s ambitious plan. While he’s better than most players in Blue Lock, he isn’t necessarily the best overall. Shido has everything a great striker needs, but more than winning trophies, he values the freedom to express his creativity on the field.

Shido has an incredible ability to achieve seemingly impossible plays from anywhere on the field, often without even focusing on the ball itself. His skill level is comparable to Rin Itoshi from Blue Lock, which has earned the admiration of Rin’s brother, Sae. While Shido is exceptionally strong, he usually doesn’t need to rely on brute force. Instead, he excels using his quick acceleration and awareness of space around him.

Seishiro Nagi Can Single-Handedly Shift the Sands of Fate

Nagi started on Team V and was ranked 221st. He quickly improved, rising to 7th place after the Second Selection. Like other talented players chosen by Ego Jinpachi, Nagi proved his potential. He decided to continue his training with Manshine City, a team based in England, just like his friends Hyoma Chigiri and Reo Mikage.

Nagi is a popular character and the star of his own manga spin-off, Blue Lock – EPISODE Nagi, which began in June 2022. He’s known for his incredible ball control, and when combined with his agility and precision, he can quickly change a game. He develops unique versions of techniques like trap shots, turns, and passes, and also learns to enter the highly focused ‘Flow State’.
