Spider-Man Starts A Gangster War In New Trailer For Amazon’s 8-Part Marvel TV Show

After first appearing as an animated character, Spider-Man Noir is now making his live-action debut as part of the Marvel universe on television.

At CCXP Mexico 2026, where ScreenRant was a media partner, all eyes were on Spider-Noir. ScreenRant’s Graeme Guttmann was there as Prime Video unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming Marvel TV show, which is set to launch in just one month. You can watch the trailer below – it’s available in both black-and-white and color versions.

The latest trailer gives a better look at the supporting cast, including the villains from Marvel comics who will appear in the show. We see that Brendan Gleeson’s Silvermane isn’t the only threat facing Ben Reilly. The trailer highlights characters like Tombstone (Abraham Popoola), Megawatt (Andrew Lewis Caldwell), and Sandman (Jack Huston), showing they’ll play significant roles.

The trailer for Spider-Noir reveals more about Ben’s past trauma, showing he’s been struggling with a personal loss. It also gives a closer look at the series’ horror aspects, including hordes of spiders and a character transforming into a spider-like creature. We also start to see the developing relationship between Cage’s hero and Li Jun Li’s Cat Hardy, hinting at a growing connection. The trailer is packed with action and showcases plenty of web-slinging throughout the Marvel series.

The animated series Spider-Noir presents a unique take on the Spider-Man story, reimagining it in the style of a 1930s detective film. Instead of being called Spider-Man, the hero in this universe goes by ‘The Spider.’ While the character isn’t Peter Parker, executive producer Phil Lord has hinted there’s a story-based reason for him being named Ben Reilly, saying, ‘The reason he’s named Ben Riley is explained.’ Chris Miller added that they wouldn’t reveal any further details at this time.

Sony has always preferred live-action Spider-Man movies, but their new show marks the first time they’re exploring the character on television in a live-action format—and it could lead to many more. Oren Uziel, the showrunner for Spider-Noir, says they’re developing projects featuring different versions of Spider-Man, similar to the upcoming show starring Spider-Man Cage. With the huge popularity of the Spider-Verse franchise, there are plenty of characters who could potentially get their own live-action series, bringing alternate Spider-Man stories to life.

It’s still uncertain if a second season of Spider-Noir will be made, but it hasn’t been cancelled. In an April interview with SFX Magazine, creator Uziel hinted that the show’s detective format allows for many future storylines. He explained that a new case – and a new client – could easily begin with a simple knock on the door, regardless of whether the setting remains New York or moves elsewhere. He believes the first season provides a solid foundation for expanding the story.

Uziel pointed out that as time went on from 1933, things were clearly moving towards financial difficulties in New York, and also a large-scale global conflict – a situation that would make a compelling backdrop for any future story.

Spider-Noir will debut on MGM+ on May 25th. After that, all episodes will be available worldwide on Prime Video, and viewers will be able to choose between watching a black-and-white or color version.
