Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Officially Sets Up The New Muse

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 7.

In season one of Daredevil: Born Again, the main villain was a character named Muse. Now, season two has introduced a new antagonist. While Matt Murdock has been battling both Mayor Wilson Fisk’s control over New York and the powerful AVTF, Muse was originally the central villain of the show’s first season.

Muse was a violent criminal who used blood to create graffiti exposing corruption in New York City. However, his extreme methods put him at odds with heroes like Matt Murdock, who fought crime through justice rather than brutality.

Before the season ended, Muse kidnapped Matt’s girlfriend, Heather Glenn, who was also helping Wilson and Vanessa Fisk with their marriage counseling. Although Daredevil stopped Muse and rescued Heather, she ended up shooting her attacker and has been deeply troubled by the experience ever since.

Heather Glenn Has Been On A Dark Path In Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Since killing Muse, Heather has been haunted by disturbing visions of the person she attacked. These hallucinations are deeply upsetting and are preventing her from healing. However, they aren’t the only reason she’s struggling. She’s also kept Muse’s mask – perhaps as a twisted reminder of her victory, or maybe because she can’t let go of the past and feels a strange sense of power by holding onto something that belonged to her attacker.

Okay, so Heather’s really diving into Fisk’s world now. She’s assisting with interviews of potential criminals, working alongside both Fisk and the DA, Hochberg. But here’s the twist – she’s not just taking notes; she’s actively manipulating the responses to make these people seem more unhinged. We saw this happen with Duquesne, and then again with Karen Page. But the interview with Karen was different. For the first time, Heather seemed genuinely thrown off balance, like she wasn’t fully in control of the situation. It was a fascinating shift and left me wondering what Karen said to rattle her.

Karen intentionally provoked Heather by mentioning Matt, which led to Heather physically attacking her with repeated slaps while Karen was handcuffed in an interrogation room.

Heather Has Become Obsessed With Muse

At first, Heather was tormented by the ghost of Muse, but now she finds herself strangely attracted to the man she murdered, and seems to be losing her sense of right and wrong. Muse himself was similarly conflicted, believing his actions were justified even as they became increasingly terrible and disturbing.

Let’s talk about Heather in Daredevil: Born Again. Honestly, her behavior has become really concerning. She’s taking bigger and bigger risks – lying on official reports, even stealing from Fisk’s widow! It’s like she’s not thinking things through at all. What’s really unsettling is how she seems to be embracing the darkness, almost becoming like the person who attacked her. It’s a disturbing transformation to watch, and it feels like she’s spiraling out of control.

Daredevil: Born Again Is Setting Up A New Muse Ahead Of Season 3

In season 2, episode 7 of Daredevil: Born Again, Mayor Fisk confronts Heather about stealing an earring from Vanessa’s jewelry. Despite usually being quick to anger, Fisk recognizes a similarity between Heather’s actions and his own past, and feels compassion for her because of her sadness.

For a brief moment, both characters drop their usual facades and reveal their vulnerability. However, instead of seeking comfort, they give in to their anger, acting aggressively and allowing their inner demons to guide them toward increasingly destructive behavior.

While Heather Glenn isn’t currently the Kingpin and hasn’t committed crimes as serious as Muse’s, her possession of his mask and increasingly reckless behavior suggest she’s evolving into the new Muse, potentially before the start of Daredevil: Born Again season 3.
