The film featured her as a young girl rebuilding her self-esteem after a horse-riding accident. Johansson delivered a remarkably mature and subtle performance, holding her own alongside established stars like Redford, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Sam Neill. It’s striking to remember that less than a year before, she had a minor, almost unnoticeable role in a critically panned sequel.
