Similar to how comic book announcements often reveal plot points or new character designs months ahead of time, movies and TV shows based on comics aren’t safe from spoilers either. When these productions film in public, people often take photos of the sets and share them online. This has been especially true for Daredevil: Born Again, the Disney+ series that’s surprisingly releasing new seasons every year.
As a big Marvel fan, I’ve been following the progress of Daredevil: Born Again closely. It’s a bit strange that Season 2 is already out while they’re still filming Season 3! We’d gotten hints – thanks to some sneaky set photos – that Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage would be showing up. But honestly, Luke Cage himself just shared a picture that pretty much gave away a major story point for Season 3. It’s a bit of a spoiler, but I’m still excited to see how it all plays out!
Luke Cage and Spider-Man Spoil The Ending Of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
The first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day surprisingly showed Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, losing his position as mayor of New York City – Spider-Man received the key to the city, for example. This suggests that the efforts of Matthew Murdock and Karen Page to build opposition will likely succeed before the end of Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.
Just because Matt is taking on a new role doesn’t guarantee everything will go smoothly. A recent photo shared by Mike Colter reveals that Matt will be seen wearing an orange jumpsuit, indicating he’ll be a prisoner in Season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again.
Rumors suggested Season 3 would show Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk behind bars, and a recent photo confirms Matt’s imprisonment much earlier than expected. This reveal is a bigger spoiler than finding out Kingpin lost the mayoralty, particularly for viewers who haven’t read the classic Daredevil comics.
Daredevil: Born Again’s Season 3 Comic Inspirations Are Clear As Day
What exactly led to Matt Murdock’s imprisonment is unclear. However, the upcoming third season of Daredevil: Born Again will likely draw inspiration from the “The Devil in Cell-Block D” storyline by Ed Brubaker and/or the Daredevil comics written by Chip Zdarsky.
The new Daredevil: Born Again series isn’t closely following the original Marvel comics. It seems to be taking bits and pieces from different stories as it pleases. It would be great if characters like Danny Rand (Iron Fist) or Elektra stepped in to protect Hell’s Kitchen while Daredevil is unavailable, and perhaps even keep his identity a secret.
With Vanessa Fisk seemingly dead, Daredevil: Born Again is at a turning point as it heads into its final three episodes. The show has given us some clues, and now we’re waiting to see how everything connects as the story unfolds.
The new Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, has been somewhat overshadowed by the previous Netflix version. However, Season 3 seems different enough to stand on its own. Whether it truly succeeds remains to be seen, but Season 2 showed a lot of promise and suggests the show is finally finding its footing after a slow start.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
