The first part of Stranger Things season 5 is now available, and the cast is beginning to share their reactions. Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven/Jane Hopper, has shared her ranking of the seasons, which has sparked some debate among fans.
Millie Bobby Brown, along with her Stranger Things co-stars Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, and Finn Wolfhard, recently spoke with Vanity Fair and answered a variety of questions, including Brown’s ranking of the show’s seasons.
Millie Bobby Brown’s Stranger Things season ranking:
- Season 1
- Season 5
- Season 3
- Season 4
- Season 2
The actress went into detail regarding her reasoning for the rankings and stated:
I think Season 1 is the most nostalgic and was a really exciting time for me personally. However, if I consider everything – how it looks, feels, and the storyline – Season 5 is actually my favorite. I don’t have a strong opinion on Season 2 because I barely remember it. And pretty much everyone dislikes Episode 7.
But Noah Schnapp, who also stars in the show, thinks season 2 doesn’t get enough credit, calling the criticism unfair. Gaten Matarazzo chimed in, agreeing that it’s an underappreciated season.
Many fans consider “The Lost Sister,” the seventh episode of season two, to be the low point of the series because of its awkward dialogue and poor reception. However, the show bounced back in season five, volume one, with the return of Linnea Berthelsen as Eight/Kali. This volume revealed that Kali had been captured by the military while trapped in the Upside Down, adding a compelling new layer to the story.

While the first part of Season 5 has received mixed reactions and currently has the lowest average rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the fourth episode, “Sorcerer,” was a standout success, earning the highest individual episode score of the entire series with a 9.8/10 on IMDb.
Stranger Things has become incredibly popular worldwide, earning Netflix over $1 billion, according to reports. It’s consistently one of the most-watched shows on the platform, and even caused the website to temporarily shut down when the latest season premiered.
The first part of Stranger Things season 5 is now streaming on Netflix. The second part will be released on December 25th, and the final episode of the series will be available on December 31st.
