Surprisingly, this film focuses more on demonic possession than the traditional mummy story. It seems the director struggles to revitalize either classic horror trope. While it includes all the expected elements – dusty corridors, impressive sound, excessive gore, and satanic ceremonies – it pushes boundaries in a problematic way. Specifically, a scene involving a young girl tied to a cross and placed in a sarcophagus is deeply disturbing and likely to alienate most viewers. Even strong family drama, like that in Ordinary People, wouldn’t be enough to excuse such a scene.

Bullseye continues to be a formidable villain in Season 2, demonstrated by his ability to defeat dozens of officers from the Anti-Vigilante Task Force in a single episode. Although he shows no remorse for killing Foggy at Vanessa Fisk’s request, his connection with the main hero, Matt Murdock, has become surprisingly complex. This dynamic promises an intense conflict between them as the season progresses, with the show’s creators recently revealing more about their plans for the finale.

Originally starting as a made-up band, Alvin and the Chipmunks has remained popular since 1958, and its four movies are a testament to its lasting appeal. Currently, the third film, Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, is even gaining attention on Disney+. With the well-deserved praise for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, it’s worth remembering how Alvin and the Chipmunks paved the way for Sonic’s success.

As a big fan of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man movies, I’m really excited to hear that six characters from those films are getting a fresh take in Season 2 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man! Those movies did such a great job of fleshing out Peter Parker’s world, and those supporting characters really stuck with me. It’s cool that they’re bringing those familiar faces into the animated series, but with a twist – they’ll be reimagined for a new generation and fit into a different version of the Marvel Universe than what we’ve seen in the MCU.
