Michael J. Fox believes the enduring appeal of the Back to the Future movies lies in their portrayal of overcoming adversity. He explained that our society currently faces many forms of bullying, and the character Biff Tannen embodies that archetype. Fox connected this to personal struggles, noting that time itself and his battle with Parkinson’s disease also represent forces that challenge us. Ultimately, he believes the films resonate because they show the importance of confronting these ‘bullies’ with courage and determination.

Universal Pictures is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the original Back to the Future movie. The film follows Marty McFly, who travels back to the 1950s in a DeLorean after an experiment by Doc Brown goes wrong. He must then make sure his parents meet and fall in love to guarantee his own existence. Back to the Future was a huge success when it was first released, earning over $385 million worldwide. It won an Academy Award for Best Sound Effects Editing in 1986 and led to two popular sequels: Back to the Future: Part II (1989) and Back to the Future: Part III (1990).

Even after forty years, the movie remains popular, and fans are still hoping for a fourth film. However, the director recently expressed frustration with the constant questioning about a sequel.
