While Marie Moreau from Gen V hasn’t appeared in The Boys Season 5 yet, recent reports indicate we now have a better idea of when she’ll make her debut in the final season.

Don’t expect Marie Moreou to show up soon in The Boys Season 5

The first few episodes of The Boys Season 5 don’t feature Marie Moreau from the spin-off Gen V. According to sources like MyTimeToShineHello, Marie won’t appear until episode 7. While the first three episodes of the season mention her, she hasn’t actually been shown on screen yet.

In Season 5, Episode 3 of The Boys, we learn that Marie is leading a team working with Starlight’s resistance movement. A conversation between Stan Edgar and Starlight reveals that Edgar is aware of Marie’s involvement and continues to communicate with the group, tying into the events and ending of Season 2 of the spin-off series, Gen V.

Before Season 5 began, showrunner Eric Kripke hinted that Marie wouldn’t be fully mastering her powers. He explained to Variety that while she’s incredibly powerful, she still struggles to control her abilities. He joked that she wouldn’t become like Keanu Reeves at the end of The Matrix – a reference to how subsequent Matrix films haven’t been as successful, suggesting a fully-powered character isn’t always the most dramatic choice.

Kripke shared a similar idea in a previous conversation with The Hollywood Reporter. He explained that Marie is still learning what she’s capable of. “If she instantly mastered her powers, she’d become a predictable and uninteresting savior character, and that’s not what we want,” Kripke said.

In a recent interview with ComicBook, showrunner Eric Kripke said he understands fans want to see Homelander lose, but he doesn’t think Marie Morehouse will be the one to do it. Kripke explained that Marie still has a lot of personal development ahead of her, and facing off against Homelander directly wouldn’t likely end well for her.

Season 5 of The Boys begins about six months after the events of Gen V Season 2. Characters from Gen V, including Marie, team up with Starlight and A-Train to battle Vought. The first episodes of the new season will center on Homelander’s growing delusions of grandeur and the reappearance of Soldier Boy as a member of The Seven.

Season 3 of Gen V hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, so how the show handled Marie’s storyline this season was particularly important.
