A Star Wars actor wants to be a part of Fourth Wing for all the right reasons.
Rebecca Yarros’s novel, Fourth Wing, has become a massive success, largely thanks to its popularity on TikTok’s BookTok. The romantasy book quickly topped bestseller lists and has already sold over 12 million copies. It tells the story of Violet Sorrengail, who unexpectedly finds herself training to become a dragon rider at Basgiath War College after her peaceful plans are disrupted.
Genevieve O’Reilly, known for playing Mon Mothma in Star Wars for over 20 years – starting with Revenge of the Sith in 2005, then Rogue One and the series Andor – recently told Starburst Magazine she’d love to appear in the Prime Video adaptation of the popular book Fourth Wing. She explained her interest in book adaptations, mentioning Fourth Wing and another recent bestseller.
My daughter is a big fan of fantasy books, especially the Throne of Glass and Fourth Wing series. If those stories are ever adapted into movies or TV shows, I’m determined to try and work on them.
The actress said she’d love to play a villain, calling it ‘so much fun!’ She might get her wish with the role of General Lilith Sorrengail, Violet’s mother. General Sorrengail is a powerful and stern leader who commands the Basgiath War College, and she pushes her daughter to compete in its dangerous trials—a role that could allow for a compelling story of redemption.
Many fans believe Sacha O’Reilly would be ideal to play Lilith in the upcoming Fourth Wing series on Prime Video, as her character is often seen as the antagonist throughout much of the first book. O’Reilly also referenced Throne of Glass, another popular fantasy series by Sarah J. Maas. A particularly fitting role for her would be Mother Blackbeak, the harsh and unforgiving leader of the Blackbeak witches.
Queen Maeve is a major antagonist in the Throne of Glass series, known for being manipulative, cruel, and obsessed with power. She uses torture and slavery to control others. Both Throne of Glass and Fourth Wing feature compelling villain roles that would be a good fit for an actor like O’Reilly. As of now, Prime Video hasn’t announced any casting for Fourth Wing, and there are no plans yet to adapt Throne of Glass for television.
