According to Heather Dalgleish Parker, a senior director at The Pokémon Company International, the upcoming Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide Limited Edition Box Set Collection is a way to honor both the Pokémon brand and its dedicated fans. She notes that these fans have been with Pokémon through various experiences, from playing the video games and collecting cards to watching the animated series.
Parker explained that telling the story of the Pokémon world was exciting, but also difficult due to its immense size. Ultimately, that difficulty proved worthwhile – they successfully highlighted the breadth and variety of Pokémon while ensuring fans felt their beloved creatures were included.
Brett Israel, an editor at Dark Horse Comics, shared his excitement about the Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide, saying it was a dream project for the team. He highlighted the dedication and passion of everyone involved – Dark Horse, Pikachu Press, and The Pokémon Company International – and expressed hope that fans will enjoy reading the guide as much as they enjoyed creating it.
The Kanto Region is incredibly important to the entire Pokémon franchise, not only because it was the first region introduced in the original games, anime, and manga. It’s also where we first met the original 150 Pokémon and features many memorable locations, like the S.S. Anne, the peaceful Seafoam Islands, and the spooky Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town.
Both the Pokémon Deluxe Character Guide and the Limited Edition Box Set Collection will be available for purchase on August 25th.
