5 Years Later, WandaVision Spinoff Finally Gets Disney+ Release Date

Since 2021, viewers have been anticipating a series based on WandaVision and focusing on the character of Vision, played by Paul Bettany. Disney+ has now announced the premiere date for the new show.

Disney announced at its presentation on Tuesday that the VisionQuest series, starring Paul Bettany, will debut on Disney+ on October 14, 2026. The show, a spinoff of WandaVision, has been in development since 2022, and its slow progress led many fans to question if it would ever be released. Now, Disney has confirmed that the series will finally premiere this fall.

VisionQuest Finally Continues Vision’s Story

The upcoming series VisionQuest will continue the story after the events of WandaVision, bringing back Paul Bettany as Vision following his death in Avengers: Infinity War. The show will likely focus on Vision as he attempts to recover his memories and rediscover what it means to be human. A trailer shown to advertisers revealed connections to both WandaVision and the Agatha All Along spinoff series, and featured appearances by Vision and James Spader as Ultron.

The upcoming series VisionQuest will feature Todd Stashwick as Paladin, an assassin seeking Vision’s advanced technology. Faran Tahir will return as Raza, the leader of the Ten Rings organization, a role he first played in the 2008 film Iron Man. Lauren Morais will play Lisa Molinari, a character linked to Thomas Shepherd, played by Ruaridh Mollica, and Diane Morgan will also appear as another of Paladin’s associates.

I’m so excited about VisionQuest! It’s being developed by Terry Matalas, who I loved on Star Trek: Picard Season 3. Apparently, things didn’t work out for Jac Schaeffer from WandaVision to lead the writing, but Terry stepped in, which I think is fantastic. Kevin Feige is overseeing the whole project as an executive producer, along with a really talented team including Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Mary Livanos, Trevor Waterson, and Christopher J. Byrne. It feels like it’s in great hands!

Expect Lots of Lasers and Fights in the New Spinoff

Before I say more, just know this story has lasers and action,” Bettany mentioned about VisionQuest, according to The Nerds of Color. “It’s about my robot character, and that’s great because it lets us connect with a lot of people, especially younger audiences.

He explained that while the show appeals to all ages, it’s fundamentally about Vision’s journey of self-discovery. He described it as a story about how past trauma can affect future generations, but with a fun, action-packed twist. He believes this theme resonates particularly with younger viewers who are also figuring out their identities. Ultimately, the show emphasizes that a person defines themselves, not their family, community, or friends – it’s about owning who you are, and that’s what makes Vision such a compelling character.

VisionQuest will premiere on Disney+ on Oct. 14, 2026.
