Landman Season 3 Gets Encouraging Paramount+ Return Update

Taylor Sheridan and Paramount+ have consistently created successful shows, beyond the popular Yellowstone universe. Their series is a hit with viewers, who are eagerly anticipating its third season.

The first two seasons of the show launched on Paramount+ in November, but it’s still unclear if Season 3 will be released there as well. Director Stephen Kay recently shared a positive update about the Season 3 release during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Landman Will Return Sooner Than Expected

He was also asked about the show Landman and when filming would resume. He said he’d be back to work in roughly a month, which matches earlier reports that production would begin in May. Kay directed all of Season 2, as well as multiple episodes of Season 1.

When asked about the show’s release date, Kay said they’d start working on it intensely right away. Because they’re editing episodes as they film, they expect it to be available soon.

The first season began filming in February 2024 and was released in November after wrapping up production in June. Season two followed a similar schedule, starting in April 2025 and premiering in November after finishing in August. Production for Season 3 is starting later, in May, which means filming will take place during the hot Texas summer. However, this schedule could still allow for a release in late 2026, based on what Kay has said.

Paramount+ renewed the show for a third season even before the second season finished airing. The series has been a huge hit for the network, with the season finale attracting 15.8 million viewers in the first two days after it became available.

Billy Bob Thornton Will Return to Landman

Despite recent false rumors, the award-winning actor confirmed he is not dating Demi Moore and is not leaving the show. He addressed an AI-generated report spreading these claims earlier this year, stating it was untrue. He also confirmed he will return for a third season.

Tommy Norris faced a lot of challenges in Season 2, particularly in the finale. Despite trying to assist the new owner, Cami, she unexpectedly fired him. He’d been a vital part of the oil company, but he disagreed with her dangerous choices, ultimately leading to his dismissal.

Landman Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on Paramount+.
