The Daredevil: Born Again season 2 viewership has taken a major beating.

The first season of the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again had a complicated production process. It initially started as a gentle reimagining of the old Netflix Daredevil show, but later shifted to directly continue the original storyline. This resulted in a first season that felt like a blend of these two approaches and received a mixed response from viewers. However, the second season has been a critical success, earning a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating of 90% from critics and an 88% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Total hours watched are down over 54%, and the number of views has decreased to 46% of what season 1 achieved. In its first five weeks, season 1 garnered 8.36 million views, totaling 24 million hours and over 1.44 billion minutes watched. Season 2’s first five weeks saw 4.52 million views, 10.87 million hours watched, and 652 million minutes watched.

The first week of Daredevil: Born Again season 1 drew 1.9 million views and 3.49 million hours of watch time. Season 2 started with 927,000 views and 788,000 hours watched. Okay, so I’m really excited for the last two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again to drop! There’s a lot of buzz around what’s going to happen with Dex/Bullseye, Vanessa Fisk, and even Jessica Jones after those crazy mid-season episodes, and I’m hoping that excitement will bring a big jump in viewers. Honestly though, the numbers we’ve seen so far aren’t great, and it makes me wonder if Marvel might have to rethink their plans for the future of the MCU based on how this season performs.
