The 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, based on the popular novel by Lauren Weisberger, was a huge success, ranking as the 12th highest-grossing movie worldwide that year (and the 6th highest that wasn’t part of an existing franchise). The upcoming 2026 sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, aims to recreate that success by bringing back the original director, David Frankel, screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, and stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. The new film will also feature fresh faces like Justin Theroux, Simone Ashley, Caleb Hearon, Kenneth Branagh, and Lucy Liu.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua (known for films like Training Day and The Equalizer), the new Michael Jackson biopic features Jaafar Jackson – Michael’s nephew – in the lead role. The film also boasts a fantastic supporting cast including Colman Domingo as Joseph Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Mike Myers, Kendrick Sampson, Larenz Tate, Liv Symone, and Miles Teller. Released in North America on April 24th, the movie broke records for a music biopic, earning $97.2 million in its first three days.

Animation is a fantastic fit for fantasy shows because it unlocks more creative possibilities and simplifies the process of building imaginative worlds, characters, and creatures. A prime example on Netflix is Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, created by Guillermo del Toro. Based on the 2015 novel Trollhunters (co-written by del Toro and Daniel Kraus), Tales of Arcadia premiered in 2016 and ran for three seasons, concluding in 2018.
