Currently, Season 9 of Rick and Morty has a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While this score might change as more reviews come in, it’s the highest-rated season of the show so far. Previous seasons have received excellent scores, but none have reached 100%. Season 1 is the next highest with 97%, and Seasons 3 and 4 both scored 96%. This is a significant improvement over Season 8, which received a score of 93%.
Rick and Morty Is Still Going Strong
Originally appearing on Adult Swim in 2013, Rick and Morty continues to be a popular show. The upcoming ninth season will be the third to feature Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden as the voices of Rick and Morty. The show also stars Spencer Grammer as Summer, Chris Parnell as Jerry, and Sarah Chalke as Beth. Rick and Morty follows the wild adventures of Rick, a brilliant but reckless scientist, and his anxious grandson, Morty, as they travel through different dimensions, combining mature comedy with science fiction.

A Rick and Morty Movie Is in the Works
With the premiere of Rick and Morty Season 9 just around the corner, exciting news about the future of the series has emerged. Co-creator Dan Harmon shared that a Rick and Morty movie is in development at Warner Bros., with Jacob Hair directing. While the story details are still under wraps, and a release date hasn’t been announced, it’s currently unknown if the film will be shown in theaters or released directly on a streaming service.
Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen has repeatedly praised Rick and Morty for consistently improving with each season. He notes that the show’s creative team is achieving increasingly impressive results, delivering episodes packed with inventive ideas and strong character development. While acknowledging his promotional role, Ouweleen insists his assessment is genuine – the show truly is exceptional.
The ninth season of Rick and Morty premieres on Adult Swim on May 24th at 11 PM, and new episodes will air every Sunday.
