Prime Video’s 10/10 Sci-Fi Fantasy Masterpiece Can Only Get Better With A New Addition

Prime Video has a great selection of original shows, and one particularly exciting series blends science fiction and fantasy. Adding a new spin-off series in its second season would make an already strong show even better. I especially enjoy anthology formats – they’ve produced some of the most memorable TV shows of all time.

Shows like True Detective, Fargo, and Black Mirror have demonstrated the power of anthology series to consistently captivate viewers. On the animation front, Netflix’s Love, Death + Robots proves that a diverse range of art styles and self-contained stories can make each episode feel like a standalone film. A new Prime Video series aims to do just that.

Secret Level Season 1 Opened The Door To Many Exciting Possibilities

Tim Miller, known for creating Love Death + Robots, recently released Secret Level, a TV show presenting a collection of stories centered around video games. The first five episodes of Season 1 became available on Prime Video on December 10, 2024. Prime Video has confirmed Secret Level will return for a second season, but a release date hasn’t been announced yet.

As a huge gaming and film fan, I was really impressed with the first season of Secret Level. It felt like they built a fantastic foundation for years of storytelling. And the cast? Seriously incredible – Keanu Reeves, Gabriel Luna, Kevin Hart, Arnold Schwarzenegger… the list goes on! What really got me excited, though, was how much potential they packed into each episode. They covered everything from God of War‘s Kratos and Mega Man to deep dives into Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer 40,000. It was a gamer’s dream!

Secret Level Season 2 Needs To Feature This Superhero Game

With the release of Secret Level season 1, a wave of interesting new games have come out. This provides plenty of source material for the Sci-Fi/Fantasy series, and now that 2025 is over, I’m convinced that Dispatch is the perfect game to be featured in a new episode of the anthology.

Dispatch is a funny superhero story about Robert Robertson III, a retired hero who now manages a team of reformed supervillains. The comic has been a hit with both fans and critics, thanks to its creative setting, heartfelt story, and appealing characters. Many have compared it to Prime Video’s Invincible, suggesting it would make a great television series.

Originally, Dispatch was planned as a live-action TV series, so adapting the popular game to Secret Level would be a fitting return to its roots. Similar to how the Pac-Man episode in season 1 promoted the release of Shadow Labyrinth, a Dispatch episode connecting seasons 1 and 2 – which is likely to happen, though not officially announced – would be a great addition.

A future episode of Dispatch within Secret Level season 2 has several possibilities. One option would be a backstory exploring Robert’s time as Mecha Man, which could deepen our understanding of the hero. Alternatively, an episode centered on Blonde Blazer or another member of the Z-Team could provide the exciting action fans expect from the franchise and Secret Level.
