Although Stranger Things has been a huge hit for Netflix and helped make the streaming service so popular, its other science fiction shows aren’t very strong. Netflix seems to focus more on fantasy, teen dramas, and horror, while viewers interested in quality science fiction are increasingly finding it on Apple TV.

The new Michael Jackson movie joins a recent trend of successful biographical films. Currently in theaters, it’s competing for audiences with films like Guy Ritchie’s In the Grey, Hugh Jackman’s The Sheep Detectives, the horror film Obsession, and sequels like The Devil Wears Prada 2, Mortal Kombat II, and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. However, few films have a subject as iconic as the biggest pop star ever, and Michael is clearly benefiting from that existing fanbase, proving to be a major financial success.

GOAT is more than just a movie with a meaningful message; it’s genuinely entertaining for viewers of all ages. The animation is visually appealing, and the voice acting is excellent, including appearances by real basketball players like Stephen Curry, Angel Reese, and Dwyane Wade. Since its release on Netflix, it’s become a very popular streaming hit, which isn’t surprising given Sony Pictures Animation’s track record of success.

It would be amazing to play a role in one of these projects! These actors are now beloved by fantasy fans, and it’s fun to imagine what they’ll do next.

Michael Fassbender, the Irish actor, is widely recognized for his roles in science fiction films. He powerfully portrayed Magneto in the X-Men series between 2011 and 2019, and played the chillingly composed android David 8/Walter One in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017). Beyond these blockbuster franchises, Fassbender has received two Academy Award nominations for his dramatic performances in 12 Years a Slave (2013), where he played a cruel plantation owner, and Steve Jobs (2015), where he embodied the Apple founder. His latest science fiction film is now earning high praise from critics.

A Justice League movie isn’t happening anytime soon, but the new show Lanterns might be setting up its main villain. Lanterns is being promoted as a realistic murder mystery on Earth, centered around Hal Jordan training John Stewart to become the next Green Lantern. However, even with its serious tone, the show could introduce a villain powerful enough to threaten the entire DC Universe and eventually bring the Justice League together.
