Netflix announced that its seven-episode series, East of Eden, will begin streaming in Fall 2026. This update arrives nearly four years after the project was initially revealed. A first look at the modern adaptation was shared in a teaser trailer during Netflix’s recent presentation, and you can now watch it online below.
Zoe Kazan (known for The Plot Against America and The Deuce) is the writer and executive producer of the East of Eden series. She explained that the aim in adapting Steinbeck’s 1952 novel was to create a vibrant family story while remaining true to the original. Kazan has been captivated by East of Eden since she first read it as a teenager, describing the book as deeply personal, impactful, and liberating.
