Recent photos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again reveal Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk, and he has a noticeably new appearance.
Daredevil: Born Again is a new show on Disney+ about the hero Daredevil, who is trying to leave his crime-fighting days behind. However, when Wilson Fisk, a powerful enemy, starts a campaign to become mayor and threatens New York City, Daredevil is pulled back into action. He must confront his past and become Daredevil once again to protect the city.
New photos shared on X by Daredevil Shots show Wilson Fisk, the famous Marvel villain, walking around New York City with a long white beard, appearing to try and avoid attention. The pictures come after the latest episode, where Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), as Daredevil, defeats Fisk. But because he couldn’t be arrested or permanently removed, the win didn’t last, and Daredevil is left facing the same ongoing struggle.
Even though there are still two episodes left to air in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, filming for season 3 has already begun, giving us our first look at what’s to come. Photos from the set suggest major political changes are happening, including campaign materials for Sheila Rivera (played by Zabryna Guevara), which indicates a significant shake-up in New York City’s leadership.
Without more information about the images, it’s hard to say for sure what they mean. However, they suggest Kingpin will remain a key character in the show, even though some fans are hoping for a different villain. A number of Daredevil viewers would prefer to see a fresh antagonist instead of one they feel has been used too much.
In previous interviews, actor Vincent D’Onofrio hinted that the death of his character’s wife, Vanessa (played by Ayelet Zurer), will deeply impact him. The upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again might show how he deals with this grief, potentially leading him down a darker path or inspiring a significant positive change.
Daredevil was created in 1964 by the famous team of Stan Lee and Bill Everett. He first appeared in Daredevil #1 as Matt Murdock, a lawyer blinded in an accident. This accident heightened his other senses to an extraordinary degree, leading him to become a masked crime fighter dedicated to protecting the people of New York City.
The first Daredevil comic book series was published by Marvel Comics in 1964 and continued for many years, finally concluding in 1998. Stan Lee wrote the initial stories, with Bill Everett providing the artwork. Jack Kirby also frequently contributed to the series.
As a huge Daredevil fan, I’m so excited to share that new episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are dropping every Tuesday! You can catch them on Disney+ at 9 PM Eastern or 6 PM Pacific. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it!
