Invincible Season 4 Finale Trailer Confirms Thragg and the Viltrumite’s Revenge Plan

I was completely floored by the trailer for the Invincible Season 4 finale! It really shows how much higher the stakes have gotten. The last episode finally showed us Thragg’s full power as he jumped into the fight, viciously attacking both Omni-Man and Mark. He even killed Thaedus to get revenge for Argall! The episode ended on a really dark note – Oliver is seriously hurt, and even though the Coalition managed to destroy Viltrum, everyone’s spirits are low.

A new trailer for the final episodes of Invincible Season 4 has been released on the show’s official social media and Amazon Prime Video. The trailer shows a heartfelt conversation between Mark and Nolan Grayson, and then teases a look at the remaining Viltrumites watching over Earth.

The brief, 30-second trailer featured Mark looking anxious about Earth’s condition. Nolan attempts to reassure him, saying, “We don’t even know if Thragg is actually there.”

Mark believes Thragg and the other Viltrumites are coming to Earth to get revenge on the Coalition for what they did to their home planet, Viltrum.

The trailer ended with a shot of at least ten Viltrumites – including the incredibly powerful Grand Regent Thragg – looking down at Earth. They’re preparing to invade and subtly integrate themselves among humans as they begin enacting their plan for revenge.

Because Mark and Nolan are still far from Earth while returning from space, Cecil and the Guardians will have to defend against an immediate attack by Thragg and the Viltrumites.

Invincible Comics Confirms Thragg’s Real Plan on Earth (And It’s Disturbing)

Warning: the rest of this article contains spoilers from the Invincible comics.

After Viltrum was destroyed, Thragg and the surviving Viltrumites changed their plans. They decided to use Earth as a new home and rebuild their empire by having children with humans. This was a purposeful effort to create powerful hybrids, like Mark Grayson, who combined human and Viltrumite strength.

The Invincible comics showed that Thragg was willing to give up, but only if the Viltrumites could conquer Earth. He explained his plan: the remaining Viltrumites would blend in with humanity and have children with them to rebuild their population.

Thragg announced that the Viltrumites won’t directly intervene in human affairs, and they’ve decided against conquering or mass-killing anyone on Earth – at least for the time being. Though hesitant at first, Mark and Nolan eventually agreed to a fragile and uneasy peace, allowing the Viltrumites to remain on Earth with the potential to cause problems from the inside. Despite the discomfort, this agreement brought the Viltrumite War to an end.

Season 4 of Invincible will probably follow the comic book storyline, leading to a tense relationship between humans and Viltrumites in Season 5. The conflict will likely center around Mark and Thragg.
