Fans think a seemingly unimportant place in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie might actually be Bowser’s hidden headquarters – and possibly where his son lives too. In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Bowser’s base was in a place called the Dark Lands, which comes directly from the Super Mario video games.

However, it seems Bowser won’t stop there after being rescued by Bowser Jr. and potentially Kamek. The title suggests the story will heavily feature cosmic locations, implying that’s where Bowser will go next.

It’s not entirely known why Bowser is going to space, but it’s possible he’s looking for a new place to live beyond the Dark Lands.

Neo Bowser City is essentially just that – a cool setting without much story connection. However, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie might change that by giving Neo Bowser City a real role in the overall story.
