Marvel’s Pride 2026 Lineup Spotlights Inclusive Characters and Storylines To Follow

You can celebrate LGBTQIA+ comic book characters any time, but Pride Month is a particularly special occasion, and preparations for it are already underway.

Marvel is celebrating Pride Month in June 2026 with a new comic book and other special releases.

I’m so excited that the new Marvel Pride story is coming a little early this year! It focuses on Wiccan and Hulkling, and it sounds like their wedding anniversary is going to be a bit chaotic. Apparently, someone – or something mechanical – crashes the party, and they end up having to rescue Vision and Viv from Ultron! It’s going to be a wild ride, I can already tell.

This special issue is a team-up between talented writers and artists, including Wyatt Kennedy, known for his work on Image Comics’ Bolero, and Stephen Byrne, an Irish artist who’s contributed to popular comics. Together, they’re telling the main story in Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron #1, which continues the plot from Kennedy’s Wiccan: Witches’ Road. The story begins with Ultron crashing an anniversary party, bringing an army with him.

This special features a story where Wiccan and his twin brother, Speed, join forces to fight Ultron, all while navigating a personal disagreement. The story is written by Tegan and Sara, the acclaimed musical duo who previously collaborated with each other on autobiographical graphic novels. Artwork is provided by Luciano Vecchio, known for his work on Marvel’s Stormbreaker.

Wiccan’s husband, Hulkling, gets his own story too, teaming up with his half-sister from another universe, Phyla-Vell. The story is written by Zoe Tunnel, who has previously worked on Marvel Pride stories, including the 2025 Marvel United: A Pride Special, and features art by Rachael Stott, known for her work on Fantastic Four.

The first issue of Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron features a touching story about Viv Vision as she explores what it means to be a synthezoid while reconnecting with her father, Vision, amidst chaotic events. The story is written by Steve Foxe, who previously contributed to IDW’s Love is Love, and illustrated by GLAAD Award-winning artist Bradley Clayton.

This one-shot also has some really cool extras – I’m especially excited to see an interview with Tegan and Sara Quin done by Angélique Roché. It’s awesome to get to hear directly from the artists and the person interviewing them!

Marvel Is Also Debuting Special Variant Covers For Pride Month

Marvel’s Pride celebration in 2026 includes more than just the new comic, Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron #1. They’re also releasing special variant covers featuring popular LGBTQIA+ characters, all illustrated by artist Luciano Vecchio, known for his work as a Marvel Stormbreaker.

A new cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #31 prominently features Black Cat, the platinum blonde character known for her complicated relationship with Peter Parker. The variant cover will be available on June 17, 2026.

The Pride variant cover for Inglourious X-Force #6 features Hellverine, the son of Wolverine (also known as Akihiro or Daken), and highlights his openly bisexual identity.

Before her featured one-shot comic, Queen in Black: Hela #1, the Asgardian goddess Hela will appear on a special variant cover for issue #11 of Al Ewing’s current series, available June 10th. Hela is a popular queer character in Marvel comics, especially known for her relationship with Karnilla, the Queen of the Norns.

Bobby Drake, also known as Iceman, a prominent LGBTQ+ character in Marvel comics, will be featured on a special Pride variant cover. This cover is for The Uncanny X-Men #30, which will be released on June 17th.

Also releasing on June 17th is a variant cover of X-Men United #4 featuring Kitty Pryde. Kitty, a mutant who can phase through objects, publicly came out as bisexual in 2020.

Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron #1 becomes available on digital platforms May 27.
