Marshals Season 2 Gets Fantastic Update From Star Ahead of Season 1 Finale: ‘Even Better Season’

There’s good news for fans of the Yellowstone spin-off! The season one finale aired on Sunday and will set the stage for what happens next in the story.

Logan Marshall-Green, star of the Yellowstone spin-off Marshal, recently discussed his return for a second season. He said filming feels like a seamless continuation of the first season, maintaining the same high quality and fast-paced energy. According to Marshall-Green, production is gaining momentum, not winding down.

He hinted that the show’s second season will arrive in the fall, adding that it’s “even better” than the first. He encouraged viewers to watch and decide for themselves.

Marshals Star Confirms Season 2 Has Entered Production

Filming for the second season of Marshals started on Monday, immediately after the season one finale, according to Marshall. Fans of Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe won’t have to wait long for answers either, as Green shared that the first episode of the new season will begin resolving key questions quickly.

The first season of Marshal ended on May 24th with an episode called ‘Wolves at the Door’. CBS released a preview hinting at exciting events that are sure to leave viewers eager for the next season.

Someone tried to kill Broken Rock’s chairman, Rainwater, and the Marshals are working to find out who was behind it. As a militia group launches an attack, Kayce discovers the plot is much bigger and more complex than anyone initially thought.

This new show blends elements of Westerns and police dramas, and continues the story from Yellowstone. Several original cast members, including Luke Grimes, Brecken Merrill, Mo Brings Plenty, and Gil Birmingham, return for this series. While Taylor Sheridan wasn’t the main creative force as showrunner or creator, he was involved as an executive producer.

I’m so excited about the new season of Marshals! It’s awesome seeing Kayce (Grimes) use his skills as a former Navy SEAL and rancher to help protect Montana as part of the U.S. Marshals. And I’m really intrigued by the new character, Pete ‘Cal’ Calvin, played by Marshall-Green – he’s a team leader who comes to Montana hoping to reconnect with his daughter. They’ve also added Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means to the cast, which is fantastic! I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds.

Marshals is a Streaming Hit, But Audiences Remain Divided

Since it first aired on March 1st, the show Marshals has become popular globally, much like its predecessor, Yellowstone. While not everyone has enjoyed the new series, that hasn’t stopped plans for a second season, which could address any issues and improve the show.

Critics haven’t been kind to the show, giving it a low score on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers also didn’t respond well, with only 27% giving it a positive rating based on over 500 reviews. Many critics agree the series feels like a slow, unremarkable police show, lacking the excitement and mystery that made Yellowstone so popular. Some believe the show suffered because Taylor Sheridan wasn’t involved in its creation.

You can now watch the first season of Marshals on Paramount+. The second season is coming to CBS this fall.
