Another DC Studios project is slowly moving forward.
After reports surfaced in September 2024 about a potential Deathstroke and Bane movie at DC Studios, Deadline reported that Greg Mottola, known for directing Peacemaker, is the leading candidate to direct. However, the publication also noted that negotiations are still ongoing and no final decision has been made.
As of today, DC Studios and James Gunn haven’t officially responded to a recent report by Mottola. That report, which surfaced in 2024, stated that Matthew Orton was hired to write a script for a film featuring the characters Bane and Deathstroke.
Honestly, I’m not sure what’s happening with the script Orton was working on – I don’t know if he’s still involved, or if someone else is taking it over now. And it’s also a mystery whether the potential Bane and Deathstroke movie will fit into James Gunn’s new DC Universe, or if it will be separate, like an ‘Elseworlds’ story.
