Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 Set Photos Confirm One Popular Villain Theory Is Coming True

Daredevil: Born Again set photos confirm a theory coming true in season 3.

The current season of the popular Marvel series on Disney+ is nearing its end, with only two episodes remaining in the showdown between Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox). But the story isn’t over! Marvel has confirmed a third season, titled Born Again, and filming is already underway. Recent photos from the set suggest some exciting things to come, including the return of Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

Recently released photos from the set of Born Again confirm a long-held fan theory for season 3. Images from Getty Images show Margarita Levieva, who plays Heather Glenn, dressed as a character inspired by Muse, complete with a full white mask covered in blood. She’s wearing a white top, black coat, boots, and pants, along with a grey beanie and what appears to be a black wig. The photos capture her in action, walking the streets of New York at night.

Before photos from the set were released, many fans thought Heather might be developing into a new version of the killer known as Muse, especially after the difficult events she experienced in the first season. The original Muse, Bastian Cooper, played by Hunter Doohan, created art using his victims’ blood and became obsessed with Heather, eventually posing as her therapist. He tried to kill her, but Daredevil intervened just in time, and Heather ultimately shot him.

By the second season, Heather holds a position as the Commissioner of Mental Health within Wilson Fisk’s government, and has given up her life as a vigilante following a near-fatal experience. The new episodes explore the lasting effects of this trauma, as Heather now suffers from hallucinations of Muse.

Heather’s emotional fragility suggested she was destined to become the next Muse, particularly because she held onto the mask and refused to seek help for her growing distress. This idea was strengthened when Buck, after Vanessa Fisk’s death – a loss that deeply affected Heather – encouraged her to express her anger by physically confronting him.

Now that this idea is happening, it’s a departure from the original comics. In the comics, Matt Murdock’s former girlfriend never turned into a villain or became the character known as Muse. However, a different female character, Morgan Whittier, did take on the Muse role and was also affected by the original Muse, who had Inhuman abilities.

It looks like Marvel Studios is changing plans and having Heather step into this role instead. However, the full change might not happen until late in season 2 or early in season 3. Even so, she won’t be the only villain, as photos confirm that Vincent D’Onofrio will return for season 3, sporting a new beard.

The last two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will be available on Disney+ Tuesdays at 9 PM Eastern Time. While season 3 is anticipated in 2027, a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.
