During a discussion about the second season of Beef, a director involved with the show – who also works as an executive producer and director for Netflix – finally shared news about the upcoming X-Men movie within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ebertfest began in 1999 as the “Overlooked Film Festival,” created by Roger Ebert himself. He envisioned it as a way to showcase films he believed deserved wider recognition. The festival was held at the beautiful Virginia Theatre in his hometown of Champaign, Illinois, where he also attended the University of Illinois and studied journalism. In 2007, it was renamed “Roger Ebert’s Film Festival,” but most people still know it simply as Ebertfest.

The 2015 action thriller, directed by Denis Villeneuve (known for Dune), marked writer Taylor Sheridan’s impressive first screenplay. The film stars Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro, and Josh Brolin, and centers on an FBI agent tasked with infiltrating a special unit created to take down a major Mexican drug cartel boss. As she gets deeper into the operation, the agent discovers things aren’t what they appear and is forced to confront difficult moral choices.

After a long hiatus, The X-Files returned in 2016 with two new seasons, bringing back David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as the iconic duo. While the revival was generally popular, some changes to the show’s established mythology frustrated fans, and the ending wasn’t entirely satisfying. Interestingly, before the 2016 season aired, The X-Files actually had an earlier, official tenth season comprised of entirely separate stories.

The show first launched in July 2019 and has been consistently produced ever since, even expanding with two spin-offs: Diabolical and Gen V. But it’s the original The Boys that viewers are most excited about, and like other shows on Prime Video, new episodes will be released each week.

Andy Serkis, known for his roles in Marvel films, will return as Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler and guardian, in the sequel to The Batman.

The situation is more critical than ever in the fourth season of the show. Homelander is gaining immense power and is likely to use it to oppress others. Meanwhile, Butcher is operating independently with a dangerous plan, and most of The Boys have been captured or forced into hiding. Only Starlight remains free, working to rally a resistance. With Butcher’s plan being so extreme, how can they hope to defeat Homelander? Luckily, the fifth and final season of The Boys is coming soon, and fans are excited to see how the story concludes.

Writers and producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord recently shared that the animated film Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is now scheduled to come out in 2027. They announced this on the red carpet for their new movie, Project Hail Mary, in an interview with Variety (posted on X). They also said the film will conclude the Spider-Verse trilogy, which began with the 2018 hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Many classic games from the past have stood the test of time, but titles like Final Fantasy VI and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night are considered among the very best retro games ever created. Despite being decades old, they remain games that everyone should experience.
