HBO’s House of the Dragon is a prequel to the hugely popular series Game of Thrones, taking place almost 200 years before the original show. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood and focuses on the Targaryen family, their power struggles, and the fight for the throne. Another Game of Thrones prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is set about 100 years after the events of House of the Dragon.

Most fans know several actors were considered for roles in The Lord of the Rings, including Liam Neeson, Nicolas Cage, and Uma Thurman. However, it’s less well-known that many actors who eventually appeared in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films initially tried out for different characters. While some of these alternate castings make sense, others would have been surprisingly strange.

We always set out to make people laugh, and we didn’t intentionally want to get into political themes. However, the nature of the characters led us there. Ultimately, our main goal was simply to entertain, to help people escape their worries, and to allow viewers to see themselves reflected in the characters – that’s what good storytelling and television do. We believe we achieved this for eleven years, and with our talented writing and acting team, we could have continued for many more. We were all passionate about our work and enjoyed working together.

Sandra Bullock carries most of Gravity, though George Clooney has a significant role in the first part of the film. The connection between the actors likely provided the emotional core of the story. However, it was the film’s stunning visuals and special effects that truly cemented its place as a landmark achievement in realistic science fiction. Gravity was a massive box office success, earning $725 million worldwide, but its seven Academy Awards—including Best Director for Alfonso Cuarón—were an even greater accomplishment. Even more than ten years after its release, Gravity still feels remarkably fresh and impactful.

He’s now starring in a new horror movie that’s becoming available for home viewing.

That’s right! The Silence of the Lambs is coming back to cinemas for a special anniversary showing. As part of Fathom’s Big Screen Classics series, this acclaimed film starring Anthony Hopkins will be shown in theaters across the country on April 26th and 29th.

The movie Dredd is set to leave Tubi soon, though an exact date hasn’t been announced. It will likely be removed around May 1st. Released in 2012, Dredd stars Karl Urban (from The Boys) as Judge Dredd, a law enforcer who handles all aspects of justice in the futuristic Mega-City One. He teams up with rookie Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) to take down a drug lord named Ma-Ma, played by Lena Headey (known from Game of Thrones).
