A new UCLA study from the Center for Scholars & Storytellers (CSS) finds that action and thriller heroes are becoming more emotionally open. This isn’t about rejecting traditional masculinity, but rather moving away from the stoic, isolated hero and embracing characters who are more vulnerable and willing to connect with others.
According to FlixPatrol, as of February 25, 2026, FBI is the fifth most popular show on Paramount+ in the United States. The show, now in its eighth season, recently returned from a break that began in mid-December, and it’s quickly gaining popularity with viewers, as evidenced by its climb in the rankings. By February 23rd, fans were clearly tuning in again.
Okay, so the new trailer for the Mortal Kombat sequel is here, and it definitely looks like we’re heading straight for the Tournament! As a fan of the games, I was excited to see some new faces joining the cast – Adeline Rudolph as Kitana and Tati Gabrielle as Jade both look fantastic, and Martyn Ford is absolutely terrifying as Shao Kahn. Thankfully, Joe Taslim is back as Noob Saibot, which is a huge win. Simon McQuoid is returning to direct, and the script this time comes from Jeremy Slater, who recently worked on Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Overall, it’s shaping up to be a pretty promising continuation of the story.
I still remember when Zootopia came out in 2016 – it was a huge hit! It ended up being the second-highest-grossing animated film that year, only surpassed by Finding Dory. Overall, it was the fourth highest-grossing movie worldwide that year, behind blockbusters like Captain America: Civil War and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. It was such a fun and clever movie, and I was so excited to see it do so well!
Netflix has become known for its diverse and engaging shows, spanning genres like suspenseful thrillers such as Adolescence, action-packed spy series like The Night Agent, lighthearted comedies like Emily in Paris, and epic fantasy shows like The Witcher. While Netflix consistently adds new content, three series currently stand out as the most popular with viewers.
Even in 2020, the HBO thriller The Outsider showed that adaptations of Stephen King’s more recent work could be highly successful. King himself has praised shows like Baby Reindeer and Servant, but he continues to create compelling television, as evidenced by series like Shudder’s Creepshow.
This story reimagines history through the perspective of Beacon, a superhero from the futuristic Dakota City. As the son of Rocket and protégé of Static, Beacon first appeared in the ‘Batman/Static: Beyond’ miniseries. This new take on the character places him firmly within the current DC Universe, until disruptions begin to change the timeline and he finds himself lost in time.
What truly makes The Last of Us special is its incredible character development. The strongest episodes are deeply moving, and the writers quickly create characters you genuinely care about and see as fully realized people. Surprisingly, the zombies themselves take a backseat – and it works brilliantly.
Even after nearly three months since its release, people are still watching and rewatching Marvel’s ‘Wonder Man’. After a brief dip in popularity, it’s now gaining momentum again as we head into March.
