What is the latest Men in Black 5 update?
Sony Pictures is planning a new Men in Black movie, following the successful revivals of the Bad Boys franchise with ‘Bad Boys For Life’ and ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’. While no actors are confirmed yet, Chris Bremner, who wrote ‘Bad Boys For Life’, is writing the script for the fifth installment.
While Will Smith hasn’t officially agreed to return, it’s still possible he’ll be involved in the new movie. He’s expected to receive the script early, as it includes his character, and the filmmakers are hoping he’ll reprise his role as Agent J. However, he won’t make any commitments until he’s had a chance to read it.
The Men in Black series started with a 1997 movie directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and featuring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. The films follow the adventures of the ‘Men in Black,’ a top-secret team that keeps track of aliens who are secretly living among us on Earth.
The original movie was so successful that it led to several sequels. Smith and Jones returned for a second film in 2002 and a third in 2012. While a fourth movie, Men in Black: International, featuring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, came out in 2019, it wasn’t popular with audiences.
