The Unicorn Gundam stands out with its distinctive name and appearance, and it’s become a popular choice among fans. Now, a collectible version of this Gundam is being updated and released as a special model kit.
Bandai has re-released the Unicorn Gundam from their GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION METAL COMPOSITE line, originally released over ten years ago. This new version features a completely updated paint job and textures for a more luxurious look and feel, complementing the existing die-cast metal parts. It’s part of a recent wave of high-end Metal Composite Gundam kits now available from Tamashii Nations.

This new version of the Unicorn Gundam, like the original from 2010, is a high-end kit from Bandai’s G.F.F.M.C. line. Designed by Hajime Katoki, these kits are known for their incredible detail and use of metal parts. This ‘STORE LIMITED EDITION’ is largely the same as previous versions, still able to transform between Unicorn Mode and Destroy Mode. However, it features a completely updated paint job, with a deeper, more vibrant white finish. The Psycho-Frame parts are also more transparent, giving it a sleeker look. Standing almost eight inches tall, the kit is made of plastic and contains a lot of metal components.
This limited-edition Unicorn Gundam model kit comes with all the expected accessories, like a Beam Magnum, shield, Hyper Bazooka, and interchangeable hands. It can transform into its two classic forms, one featuring the single horn that defines the mobile suit. This version boasts even more detail than the original release from over fifteen years ago and is a must-have for collectors. It’s currently available for $279 through the Tamashii Nations store and website, reflecting its high-quality construction. This isn’t the only new G.F.F.M.C. model kit/action figure released or announced for 2025; other options include the iconic Wing Gundam.
