A gripping and exciting war movie, released just last month, is now available to stream. Inspired by the true and terrible story of the Bataan Death March – where thousands of Filipino and American prisoners of war were forced to march 60 to 70 miles after the Japanese won the Battle of Bataan – this thriller stars and features a standout performance from a well-known but often overlooked action star. Many are calling it one of his best films yet.
The action movie *Prisoner of War* had a small release in US cinemas and online in September, and is now available to stream on Prime Video in the UK. Though it didn’t get a lot of promotion, fans of action films and Scott Adkins will hopefully discover it quickly and enjoy his signature action skills in a World War II story.
Louis Mandylor, who previously worked with Scott Adkins on *The Debt Collector* films, directs *Prisoner of War*. The movie stars Scott Adkins and features a diverse international cast, including Michael Copon (known from *As Good as Dead* and *Power Rangers: Time Force*), UFC fighter Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (who’s been in *3 Days in Malay* and *The Equalizer 2*), Michael Rene Walton (*Reptile*), Gary Cairns (*The Channel, Justified*), Shane Kosugi (*Nine Deaths of the Ninja*), Masanori Mimoto (*Baby Assassins, Hydra*), Gabbi Garcia (*Unbreak My Heart*), and Peter Shinkoda (*I, Robot, Daredevil*). The official storyline for *Prisoner of War* is available below…
Prisoner of War features Scott Adkins, known for his martial arts skills, as James Wright, a British soldier captured by the Japanese during World War II. Held in a Philippine prisoner of war camp, Wright and his fellow soldiers are forced to fight for their lives in deadly competitions to amuse their captors before being forced on the infamous Bataan Death March. This role is considered Adkins’ strongest performance yet, as he plays the man who might be their only hope.
