The initial season of Alien: Earth has concluded, and viewers throughout the galaxy are enthusiastically sharing their positive feedback. They’re excited and want to know what happens next, eagerly anticipating future developments.
Okay, I’ll admit, I wasn’t completely blown away by the last episode. It felt like it was spending a little *too* much time setting things up for what’s coming next, and I was hoping for a bit more action – you know, some folks getting taken out! But honestly, the rest of the show was so good that I’m already eagerly waiting for another season. It looks like we’ll be waiting a while for Alien: Earth Season 2, which is perfect, actually. It gives us fans plenty of time to come up with theories, debate who’s going to make it, which characters might not be so lucky, and, most importantly, what The Eye is actually *like* when she’s not, well, being The Eye! There are so many things happening and so much potential with each of them, so I’ve been thinking and here are a few completely wild predictions based on what little we know and a *lot* of just guessing.
Our predictions for Alien: Earth Season 2
The Lost Boys
After successfully fighting back against the Prodigy Corporation, Wendy and her team are now central to the story. While they’ve had their moment, history (as shown in the films) suggests things might not end well for these hybrids. It’s possible the story could be rewritten – perhaps fewer hybrids remain, or Wendy leads her crew into hiding. But realistically, that’s probably hoping for too much. The direction of the Alien universe appears to favor the synths. Still, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the ride. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens!
If the Lost Boys make it through the fight with the Yutani forces, they’ll finally get the chance to ‘rule,’ just as Wendy predicted. We’ve seen they can be very violent when they need to be, particularly Nibs. The big question is whether they’ll limit their ambitions to Neverland, or if they’ll try to expand their control – maybe to a company, a continent, or even the whole world. Tootles (Isaac/Steven) is currently incapacitated – killed by an insect – but there’s been talk of bringing him back somehow, potentially with a changed personality. Curly (Jane) is enjoying her new body and powers, having escaped her wheelchair, but she’s hungry for even more, which led her to try and become Boy Kavalier’s favorite. She’s currently working with the other hybrids, but I doubt she’d be resistant to an offer that promised greater power. Smee (Christopher) remains very naive and cheerful, and we’ll likely see those qualities crushed out of him – though hopefully he retains some of his playful side for entertainment. We see him helping Slightly, even though he knows it’s wrong, but his easily manipulated nature could cause problems for this hybrid. And speaking of Slightly (Aarush), he probably still has that communicator implanted in his neck, meaning Morrow could still contact him. However, after everything they’ve been through, I expect we’ll see a much darker side of him, especially considering he’s already responsible for Arthur’s death.
Nibs and Wendy are arguably the most compelling members of The Lost Boys, and they’re likely to be the focal points of the group’s story. Following the trauma of being attacked by The Eye, a false belief about being pregnant, having her memory wiped, and losing a beloved toy, Nibs (Rose) appears determined to fight and claim what she wants. She seems eager to experience life to the fullest, perhaps feeling a lingering sense of loss for what she’s missed, stemming from her difficult adjustment to becoming a hybrid. It’s reasonable to believe Nibs will continue to be violent and will be difficult to control. Meanwhile, Wendy (Marcy) has evolved beyond simply being a mentor; she’s now a leader who feels a strong sense of responsibility for those she protects, and this will undoubtedly shape her choices. While she cares deeply for her brother, Joe Hermit, her reaction to him restraining Nibs suggests they’re destined to conflict again, with potentially severe consequences. Wendy possesses considerable power, not just through her robotic body and impressive technopathic abilities, but also through her control of the two Xenomorphs. She will probably depend on them heavily, pushing the boundaries of her technological influence, which could lead to breakthroughs about her unique abilities or ultimately exhaust her.
Those who used to be in charge
Predicting what will happen with the heroes is simpler because they generally have clearer storylines and receive the most attention. However, I’m particularly curious about the fate of those who seem to be their captors, who were left imprisoned at the end of the last episode. Many of these characters survived, likely to attempt a comeback in Alien: Earth Season 2, which seems plausible given the consistently poor security on the island. I’m glad Morrow is still around, but he desperately needs to succeed at something to justify his continued role. Kirsh cleverly outsmarted him and even managed to defeat the cyborg in a fight, so Morrow will need to get his own back and at least accomplish a portion of his mission to prove his value to Yutani. But I suspect he might go even further, potentially betraying his own company. I’ve been considering Morrow’s family, especially his daughter, how long he’s been away, and what drives a man like him after such a long absence. Even if his future likely ends tragically, I’m keen to see how he might go out. I have a feeling that even if he achieves one objective, it won’t be enough to satisfy him.
I’m not as invested in the other ‘villains’ in the story. I enjoy Kirsh’s character, but he’s struggling right now. It appears he’s not a complex double agent, but simply a synth similar to David, willing to sacrifice others for his scientific pursuits. He used Slightly and Smee to capture Morrow, ultimately proving his continued loyalty to Prodigy. There’s a chance there’s more to his plan, a larger strategy at play, but I suspect the story will head in a different direction. Given Wendy’s ability to control machines, could she reprogram Kirsh, transforming the former guardian of The Lost Boys into a new kind of protector? The same possibility exists for Atom Eins, who is a strong character in the show, but currently lacks a clear purpose beyond potentially being established as the synth creator from Boy Kavalier’s past and getting revenge on Wendy for humiliating him.
Regarding Kavalier, he’ll probably regain control in Alien: Earth Season 2 if the show doesn’t let him die when it should. I’m guessing he’ll use his intelligence to activate a killswitch or some other safety feature to escape his new captors. That smile and strange laugh at the end suggest he has something up his sleeve, doesn’t it? Dame Sylvia appears to be seeking redemption, even if just for a little while, which I think will lead to conflict between her and Kavalier. Honestly, I want both of them to die, but considering they’ve survived this long, perhaps they’ll both achieve some level of success before meeting a tragic end. Kavalier should either be defeated by The Eye, finally get the conversation he’s been wanting, or be killed by a Xenomorph. And Sylvia will probably be torn apart by one of her own children, given that her reasons for caring about them are, at best, highly suspect.
The other players
So, we’ve addressed the humans and the machines, but what about the aliens? We generally understand the Xenomorphs’ goal: to reproduce and create more of their kind, though their supply of eggs is limited. This makes me think that one of them could potentially become a Queen, or perhaps even a completely new type of Xenomorph that we haven’t encountered before – unless they already view Wendy as fulfilling that role in some strange way. Regardless, these creatures – the main threat – need to be featured more prominently on screen before they’re defeated, to minimize the number of people who become aware of them.
The other samples appear to be doing well, and they might also want to reproduce, similar to the insects. Hopefully, they all flourish. The Eye (T. Ocellus) is more intelligent and needs a physical form, so it will likely receive a significant upgrade to face the Xenomorphs once more. It probably can’t directly control them due to their corrosive blood, but perhaps there are other options. That’s a battle worth revisiting. Alien: Earth will probably stay fairly true to established lore in future seasons, but most viewers wouldn’t mind seeing more of The Eye or even witnessing it conquer a small planet. Depending on which creature it inhabits and how skilled that creature is with technology, The Eye could become the biggest danger to Earth’s security. It’s a serious threat, and we need to be prepared.
Darkening the tone
The tagline for Alien: Earth Season 2 is, “We were safer in space,” and that’s exactly what I’m hoping for. I want to see genuine fear, people fleeing in terror, and a significant increase in casualties. While surprises, betrayals, and a few nods to fans would be welcome, I really want to feel the desperation and experience those moments where everything seems hopeless, right before the season ends with a powerful soundtrack. I’d like to see the other corporations respond to the situation, aggressively competing for control-possibly by destroying Prodigy in the process. Considering most of our main characters inhabit bodies that don’t age, a time jump could be interesting, showing a planet in even worse condition with the hybrids blending in with the synths while they continue to scheme for dominance. Ultimately, I just want a much darker and more dystopian atmosphere, where humans are truly just seen as a food source and no one is safe – not from corporations, machines, or the aliens themselves. I need to feel like survival is unlikely for anyone facing what’s coming next.
