
A remake of The Magnificent Seven is coming soon, and the actor who will play the character Vin Tanner has been revealed.
Michael Ealy will play the lead role of Vin Tanner in the new eight-episode TV series of The Magnificent Seven on MGM+. He’s taking on a role previously played by actors like Steve McQueen and Chris Pratt, according to Deadline.
This actor has starred in films such as Barbershop, 2 Fast 2 Furious, For Colored Girls, and Underworld: Awakening. He’s also appeared on television shows including ER, The Good Wife, Californication, Being Mary Jane, Westworld, Bel-Air, and Power Book II: Ghost.
The cast of the upcoming Magnificent Seven remake already includes Matt Dillon, who will play Chris Adams, and Will Patton, who will be portraying a character that hasn’t been announced yet.
Tim Kring, the creator of shows like Crossing Jordan, Heroes, Heroes Reborn, and Treadstone, is developing a new series. He’s working alongside executive producers Dillon, Donald De Line, Bruce Kaufman, and Lawrence Mirisch, and is also writing the scripts for the show.
Filming is expected to get underway in Calgary, Alberta, in June.
