I see him as a talented actor on his own merits, and I don’t really think about his father when I watch him perform. He works incredibly hard and is a genuinely impressive actor.

What Fans Can Expect from the Future of Daredevil: Born Again

The Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again is nearing its season finale, scheduled to premiere on May 5th. The latest episode, “The Hateful Darkness,” took a grim turn when Daniel Blake, played by Michael Gandolfini and formerly a close ally and deputy mayor to Wilson Fisk, was killed for protecting the identity of a mole within the city government.

Daniel Blake’s death proves that no one is safe in the battle for New York City’s future. Though the Season 2 finale will bring big changes, fans are already excited about Season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again, which the show’s creators have hinted at for some time.

In 2025, Brad Winderbaum, who leads streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios, announced plans for annual releases of a certain series. He suggested a release timeframe of each March, continuing as long as viewers continue to enjoy the show.

It’s still unclear exactly what Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 will be like, but it will likely remain fairly separate from the main Marvel Cinematic Universe. As one of the creators put it, they see their show as existing in a different, more street-level world – “downtown” compared to the larger, more expansive MCU which they jokingly refer to as “uptown.” Their focus is on the gritty, localized world of Hell’s Kitchen and New York City.

As a big fan, I was really interested in what Scardapane had to say about Daredevil’s future. He made it clear that while we probably won’t see Daredevil jumping into any massive, over-the-top MCU events anytime soon, it doesn’t mean crossovers are off the table. He explained that Daredevil’s already appeared in other shows, and we can expect more characters to move between those shows and the movies – it all contributes to the bigger picture of the MCU, which is exciting!
