Okay, so I’ve been revisiting some older games lately, and honestly, a lot of them haven’t held up as well as I remember. Even titles like Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, which seemed straightforward back then, or something really complex like SimCity, just don’t feel as good as they used to. It’s a shame, because these were once considered some of the best games on the SNES.

I absolutely love Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts! It’s a classic platformer where you play as Arthur, a brave knight on a mission to save Princess Guinevere. This evil Emperor Sardius has kidnapped the princess and taken over her kingdom, and to make things worse, he’s unleashed a ton of monsters to scare everyone into giving up. But Arthur isn’t backing down – he’s determined to rescue the princess and set things right!

Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts was notoriously difficult when it first came out, and it hasn’t gotten any easier. With better options available in the Ghosts ‘n Goblins series, like Demon’s Crest and Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, it’s hard to recommend playing it today.

SimCity is a game where you create and manage your own city. You’ll design neighborhoods and business areas, and also handle important things like taxes. That tax money then pays for services like schools and utilities to keep your city running smoothly.

When the SNES launched, SimCity was one of the games available, which was quite an achievement given how complex the game could be. However, the SNES version runs a bit slower than the computer original. It’s also harder to create good maps for building cities, and the game lacks some of the features found in the original computer versions.
