Zack Snyder hypes up his Justice League’s fifth anniversary
Director Zack Snyder celebrated the upcoming five-year anniversary of his film, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, with a post on Instagram. He noted the milestone and shared a memorable exchange between characters Diana and Bruce: Diana says, “You said the age of heroes would never come again,” and Bruce replies, “It will. It has to.” Snyder reflected on the film’s continued impact, adding, “Five years later… and the age of heroes still feels very real.”
A photo from the set of Wayne Manor, used during filming, was shared online. Warner Bros. released the movie on HBO Max in 2021, following a long fan effort to get director Zack Snyder’s cut of the superhero film released.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League came about after the 2017 film, Justice League, was released in theaters. Snyder had to leave the original project due to a family tragedy, and Joss Whedon took over, re-shooting and changing a lot of the footage. The 2017 theatrical version wasn’t well-received by critics or audiences and didn’t do well in cinemas.
The restored cut of the film brought director Zack Snyder’s initial creative plans to life with extra footage and newly filmed scenes. It also developed the story further and included hints about possible future movies in the DC Extended Universe. However, Warner Bros. hasn’t announced any plans to continue the story with live-action films.
I was listening to Zack Snyder talk on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and he was sharing some interesting stuff about how the DC movies came together. He mentioned the studio really pushed for ‘Dawn of Justice’ to be in the title of ‘Batman v Superman,’ and they thought it was crucial. He also said his main focus was always on establishing that core trio – Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman – because that’s such an iconic group.
Snyder explained that DC Comics stands out because of its iconic characters – Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. He believes these characters are so well-known that they need no introduction, representing a level of cultural impact that goes beyond simple intellectual property.
