A new rumor suggests we might see the Young Avengers in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. Doomsday is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
What’s the new Avengers: Doomsday update?
According to James Mack, a source familiar with Marvel’s plans, three members of the Young Avengers will appear in the upcoming Avengers movie, currently known as Avengers: Doomsday. This news follows earlier reports that the Young Avengers might feature in both Doomsday and Secret Wars, potentially as a way to introduce a Young Avengers TV series that has been discussed for a while.
The idea for this team first appeared in a scene after the movie The Marvels in 2023, where Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) asked Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) to join forces with other young heroes. Since then, fans have been speculating online about the project. Earlier reports hinted that the show might be called Champions, combining characters and storylines from both the Young Avengers and Champions comic book series.
Joe and Anthony Russo are directing the new Avengers movie, currently titled ‘Doomsday,’ with Stephen McFeely writing the script. The film will bring back familiar faces like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Evans, and will also star Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Lewis Pullman, Simu Liu, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Hannah John-Kamen, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Danny Ramirez.
The next Avengers movie will bring back familiar faces from the X-Men, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit. There’s also talk that Doctor Strange, Deadpool, Peggy Carter, and Spider-Man could make an appearance in the film.
