As a huge Stephen King fan, I’m really hoping Mike Flanagan’s take on The Dark Tower finally does the story justice. King himself has said it’s his life’s work – his ‘magnum opus,’ as he calls it – and that it ties together everything he’s ever written through this incredible multiverse he’s created. The books are consistently ranked among his very best, and that’s saying something considering how much amazing stuff he’s written!

If Flanagan’s new series achieves the same level of acclaim as Stephen King’s The Dark Tower books, it has the potential to be a truly exceptional Western. The Dark Tower successfully blends multiple genres – it offers fantasy elements like magic and alternate realities, classic Western gunfights, a contemporary setting that appeals to fans of modern Westerns, and a beautiful love story, all while maintaining King’s signature horror style. With so much to offer, this story could captivate a wide range of viewers.
