As a longtime Spider-Man fan, I’ve always thought Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin would make an incredible on-screen adversary for Tom Holland’s Spidey, and it sounds like that might actually happen! D’Onofrio himself has said he wants to take on Spider-Man, and honestly, who wouldn’t want to see that fight? While he’s become closely linked to Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s easy to forget Kingpin actually first appeared in an Amazing Spider-Man comic way back in 1967. Over the years, Wilson Fisk has really established himself as the go-to villain for Marvel’s street-level heroes, but surprisingly, he’s only ever battled Spider-Man in animated form, most recently in Into the Spider-Verse. It’s about time we saw a live-action showdown!
Film scoop reporter Alex Perez says the plan for Tom Holland’s future Spider-Man movies is to have him interact with Vincent D’Onofrio’s character, Wilson Fisk – better known as Kingpin – who first appeared in the Netflix series Daredevil.
For years, fans have wanted to see Spider-Man battle a villain from the Daredevil: Born Again storyline. Originally, many believed this conflict would be central to the Brand New Day era, but it now appears it will be explored in the two planned sequels instead.
D’Onofrio has addressed these kinds of rumors before, stating, “Honestly, I have no idea.” It’s unclear whether he’s being deliberately vague about a potential Spider-Man and Kingpin conflict, or if he genuinely doesn’t know what Marvel Studios has planned for the future.
While it doesn’t look like D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Kingpin in the current storyline, Brand New Day, he is scheduled to return in Season 2 of Born Again next March. The timing of that return could offer some clues about future events.
Kingpin vs. Spider-Man & Daredevil Is the Perfect Trilogy-Capper

Back in 2023, before the full effects of the Brand New Day storyline were felt, The Cosmic Circus predicted that Kingpin’s campaign for mayor would significantly affect the Spider-Man series. The report suggested that Wilson Fisk might hire others to carry out his plans as part of his effort to discredit vigilantes.
The upcoming Brand New Day might include several villains who are all secretly connected to Kingpin, potentially laying the groundwork for his larger role in future Marvel movies. The MCU has already established that Kingpin is aware of Spider-Man, with him previously referencing “a man who dresses in a spider outfit” in a speech against vigilantes.
It makes strategic sense for Marvel Studios to introduce Kingpin in a future Spider-Man movie, likely the fifth or sixth installment. This would allow them to continue developing the Born Again series on Disney+—featuring the ongoing conflict between Kingpin and Daredevil—and eventually conclude that storyline with a cinematic finale.
Peter Parker and Matt Murdock met in No Way Home, but their superhero identities haven’t connected within the main Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline yet. Fans were excited about the possibility of seeing them team up in Spider-Man 4, but Marvel Studios might be holding off on that crossover for a few more films, knowing how much interest there is in it.
It’s possible we could see the end of Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Tom Holland’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The next Spider-Man trilogy likely won’t finish until after 2030, and by then, these actors will have been playing their roles for around 15 years.
