Peacock Adds 8 Quentin Tarantino Movies
Now that most of Quentin Tarantino’s films are in one place on a single streaming service, it’s a perfect time to watch them all. It’s also a great way to pass the time while we wait for his tenth, and possibly final, movie.
Quentin Tarantino gained attention in 1992 with his film Reservoir Dogs, immediately showcasing his style of gritty violence, strong language, and references to popular culture. Despite minimal promotion, the low-budget crime film was a surprising hit with audiences. The movie features Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Chris Penn, Steve Buscemi, Lawrence Tierney, Michael Madsen, Edward Bunker, and even Tarantino himself, and tells the story of a robbery that goes terribly wrong.
Two years after that, Quentin Tarantino directed Pulp Fiction, which made him a famous director. In 1997, he followed it up with Jackie Brown, based on an Elmore Leonard novel. The film stars Pam Grier as Jackie Brown, a flight attendant who finds herself involved in a dangerous smuggling scheme.
Quentin Tarantino originally filmed Kill Bill as one complete movie, but his producer, Harvey Weinstein, convinced him to release it in two parts. Kill Bill: Volume 1 came out in 2003, and Kill Bill: Volume 2 followed in 2004. Later that year, a complete version called Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, though it wasn’t widely released in theaters until 2025. Now, for the first time, you can watch it streaming on Peacock.
As previously noted, Death Proof premiered with Planet Terror as part of the Grindhouse double feature in 2007. While Tarantino and Rodriguez’s individual movies were the main attraction, Grindhouse also featured fake trailers made by other directors. Surprisingly, those trailers—including Hobo With a Shotgun, Machete, and Thanksgiving—were later developed into full-length films. Despite this, Grindhouse wasn’t successful in U.S. theaters, so the studio released Death Proof and Planet Terror separately overseas and for home viewing.
First appearing in 2009, this story is set in a reimagined World War II. It follows two separate assassination attempts against Nazi Germany’s leaders that eventually become connected.
In 2012, Tarantino released Django Unchained, a film inspired by classic spaghetti Westerns. It stars Jamie Foxx as an enslaved man who becomes a bounty hunter, determined to find his family.
Peacock added the latest Tarantino film today: The Hateful Eight. The movie follows eight strangers who find themselves sheltering together during a severe blizzard. Tarantino originally planned it as a novel and a continuation of Django Unchained, but ultimately chose to create it as its own separate story.
These eight Tarantino movies are streaming now on Peacock.
