AMC Networks has added a new actor to the cast of the upcoming third season of The Walking Dead: Dead City. Filming is currently happening in Boston.
Who is joining The Walking Dead: Dead City cast?
Jimmi Simpson, known for his roles in shows like *It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia* and *Westworld*, will be joining *The Walking Dead: Dead City* for its third season as a main character named Dillard. Details about Dillard are currently being kept secret. This role follows Simpson’s recent appearances in *Dark Matter* (2024) and the new *Twisted Metal* series on Peacock.
The third season follows Maggie and Negan as they work together to create a successful community in post-apocalyptic Manhattan. However, as problems begin to surface, they must confront whether they’ve truly moved past their troubled histories, or if those past conflicts will lead to the city’s destruction.
Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Dead City will once again feature Lauren Cohan as Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan. Joining the cast this season is Aimee Garcia, known for her role in Lucifer, playing the character Renata. Eli Jorné, who led the show creatively for the first two seasons, is stepping down as showrunner. Seth Hoffman, a former writer and executive producer on the original Walking Dead, will take over as showrunner. Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are also executive producers, alongside Scott M. Gimple, Brian Bockrath, and Colin Walsh.
