Viewers will have to wait until 2026 to see the return of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. But that gives us some extra time to think about the dramatic season finale. In the episode “Payback and a Partial Shebang,” Ruben had a major storyline when their competitor, Fred Fagenbacher, offered to buy out his and Georgie’s business. Though tempted by the offer – recognizing that success isn’t always certain – Ruben decided to remain loyal to Georgie, believing in their shared vision for a thriving tire franchise. Actor Ruben Prez shared with TVLine his thoughts on being featured so prominently in the episode.
It was incredibly meaningful to me. When I read the episode for the first time, it really touched me because it was the first time I truly understood what Ruben was going through. It felt like a deeper look into his inner world, allowing me to connect with him on a more personal level.
It’s great to see Jessie Prez feel that way, and it really makes me enjoy the episode focused on Ruben even more. Since we don’t know much about what happens to Ruben in the future—he’s not in The Big Bang Theory—I expect we’ll see more opportunities for him to play a big role and add interesting twists to the tire shop story.

I’m wondering if Ruben and Georgie will stay partners for the long haul, especially as their tire shop grows throughout Texas. Considering Ruben’s modest beginnings and how he jokingly complains about being broke from investing in the business, I really hope he finds success in the future.
It’s impossible to say what the future holds for Georgie and Mandy’s marriage on the show. The actors themselves don’t know when their characters might split up, which is surprising! The show’s creators are probably pleased about this uncertainty, as it prevents any accidental spoilers.
I’m really looking forward to more funny situations at work with Georgie and Ruben, and I was thrilled to hear Jim McCallister is coming back as an employee. Having him working for them instead of being the boss is sure to create some hilarious moments!
