The Night Manager Return Turns Into a Streaming Sensation

After a decade since its initial release, Tom Hiddleston’s intriguing spy series returned for a second season on Prime Video. It premiered on January 11, 2026, and has rapidly gained popularity.

As of January 20th, the British series The Night Manager, based on John le Carré’s 1993 novel and created by David Farr, is the second most popular show on Prime Video in the U.S., according to FlixPatrol. Four episodes of Season 2 have already been released, with the fifth episode coming out on January 25th and the season finale on February 1st.

The series is a hit around the world, currently ranking as number three on FlixPatrol. It’s only behind Fallout and Beast Games in global popularity. Originally released in 2016, the second season finally arrived a decade later as a continuation of the first.

The series centers on Jonathan Pine, played by Hiddleston, a former British soldier who takes on a new, dangerous assignment in Colombia. He’s tasked with investigating an arms dealer named Teddy Dos Santos (Diego Calva) and his alluring partner, Roxana Bolanos (Camila Morrone). As Pine gets closer to Teddy’s operation, he discovers a web of hidden secrets and widespread corruption. The question is, can he stop the scheme before it’s too late?

Tom Hiddleston appears with Hugh Laurie (known for House), Olivia Colman (from The Crown), and Elizabeth Debicki (also The Crown) in The Night Manager. The second season of The Night Manager has received positive reviews, earning a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 43 critic reviews. Viewers have also given it a respectable 66% rating, based on over 100 reviews.

Reviewing The Night Manager, critics noted that the second season quickly gets exciting and remains sophisticated and intriguing without repeating past storylines.

Hiddleston Will Return to the MCU

Tom Hiddleston, known for The Night Manager, will return as Loki in the new Marvel movie, Avengers: Doomsday, which comes out December 18th. A recent preview showed a team-up between The Fantastic Four and the people of Wakanda.

Hiddleston will join a project featuring stars like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Stewart, and Florence Pugh.
