Supergirl’s Milly Alcock Panicked After Landing DC Role: ‘What Have I Done?’

Milly Alcock shared how she felt when she found out she’d been cast as Supergirl in the new DC Universe. In a recent interview, the actress—known for her role in House of the Dragon—explained that she was both thrilled and nervous after receiving the news via text message.

Milly Alcock didn’t believe she could do justice to Supergirl after getting cast

Milly Alcock recently told Forbes Australia that she was very anxious about getting the part of Supergirl in the DC Universe. She was so worried, in fact, that she actually called the film’s director, Craig Gillespie, to discuss her concerns.

The Australian actress confessed she initially doubted her ability to take on the role. She wondered if she’d made a mistake and even contacted the director, admitting she wasn’t sure she could convincingly portray the character, saying she could only be herself.

At first, Alcock doubted herself, but she eventually regained her composure by trusting in her own skills. She explained, “I came to realize that the only way to move forward was to have faith in myself. I believe everything happens at the right time, whether we feel prepared or not.”

Alcock understands the challenges of her job and the attention it brings. She explained that while being recognized is okay in London, it can be unpredictable elsewhere. She anticipates a surge in public attention when the show Supergirl is released, knowing things will change again.

Joining Milly Alcock in the upcoming Supergirl movie is a talented group of actors, including Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa, who will play Lobo. The film is based on the “Woman of Tomorrow” comic books and is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026.
