Stephen King’s 11.22.63 Series Comes To Netflix in January 2026

Stephen King’s suspenseful time-travel story, 11.22.63, is coming to Netflix for the first time. The series, originally based on King’s 2011 novel—a mix of mystery and science fiction—was one of the first original shows created for Hulu. It premiered in February 2016, before Hulu became known for popular series like The Handmaid’s Tale (2017) and Ramy (2019).

The eight-episode series 11.22.63 follows Jake Epping (James Franco), a teacher who travels back in time with the goal of preventing the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. However, things become more difficult for Jake as he starts to build a life and form connections in the past. The series also stars Sarah Gadon, Lucy Fry, George MacKay, and Daniel Webber.

According to a recent announcement, the series 11.22.63 will be available on Netflix for viewers in the U.S. starting January 7, 2026. Originally a Hulu Original, the show is moving to Netflix because Warner Bros. Television, which produced it, has a deal with Netflix to license several programs, including The Following and the crime drama Found.

I’ve been following this sci-fi series since it first came out in 2016, and it’s been all over the place! It disappeared from Hulu earlier this year, but thankfully popped up on Tubi. Now, I’m so excited it’s coming to Netflix – that’s going to be huge for it! I really think if the show based on Stephen King’s work takes off and goes viral, a ton of new people are going to discover it, and that’s amazing.

The miniseries 11.22.63, starring Cherry Jones, Chris Cooper, T.R. Knight, Kevin J. O’Connor, and Josh Duhamel, was written by Bridget Carpenter, who has received Emmy nominations for her work on Westworld and Friday Night Lights. Critics generally liked the show, giving it an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 64 reviews, while audiences gave it an even higher score of 88%. This release adds to the current surge in adaptations of Stephen King’s work.

The first season of It: Welcome to Derry has just finished airing and received a lot of attention. Fans can also look forward to a TV series based on Carrie, created by horror expert Mike Flanagan, which will be available on Prime Video. Movie adaptations of Billy Summers and Mister Yummy are also in the works. However, this recent wave of Stephen King adaptations could also bring renewed interest to a lesser-known story and potentially pave the way for a sequel to 11.22.63.
