‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Trailer Gets a New Release Update (And It’s Not Good)

Fans hoping for a trailer for Spider-Man 4 soon might be disappointed. While Marvel fans are excited about the two trailers already released for Avengers: Doomsday, details about Spider-Man 4 have been scarce – so far, we’ve only seen photos from the set and small sneak peeks.

Currently, there’s no confirmed date for when the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released. Industry insider Amit Chaudhari responded to a fan on X, stating the trailer isn’t scheduled for release yet. He promised to share an update if a release date is set, but didn’t say when that update might come.

Rumors of a trailer for Brand New Day releasing around Christmas gained traction after someone shared what looked like leaked footage. Disney and Sony quickly acted to remove the leaked clips, confirming their authenticity. However, it’s possible the trailer wasn’t finished or fully intended for release yet, and the studios might be working on a completely new version for a later date.

Filming for the new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, began in late July 2025 and wrapped up in mid-December 2025 – roughly seven months before the film is scheduled to come out. Unless additional filming is needed, Sony Pictures has everything ready to release a trailer whenever they choose.

The next Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will be Tom Holland’s fourth solo film as the character and the second movie in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film, also starring Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Benthal, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Mando, will likely focus on Peter Parker starting over and creating a new life after the world forgot he exists, all while facing dangerous new villains. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to release in theaters on July 31, 2026.

When Will Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s First Trailer Be Released?

The first trailers for Avengers: Doomsday were a huge success, released earlier than any other Marvel Cinematic Universe film – with the exception of Black Widow, which was significantly delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Because these trailers are generating a lot of online buzz and are expected to remain popular for weeks, Marvel will likely focus on maximizing views and engagement with them.

Disney recently released the first trailer for its new Marvel movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, on February 4, 2025. The timing was intentional, as it came just five days before Super Bowl LIX on February 9th. Studios often use the Super Bowl – a huge annual event – to debut trailers for their biggest films.

The next Spider-Man movie is mainly a Sony project, as Sony is handling its distribution instead of Disney. Because of this, the studio likely wants to give the sequel enough time to build anticipation with audiences. While Sony isn’t delaying the trailer as much as some other Marvel studios—Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) holds that record—the best time to release the new trailer is coming up soon.

Sony is expected to release the first trailer for Brand New Day in January 2026, likely to start the new year strong. If not then, the latest it would come out is during Super Bowl LX on February 8th, which is almost six months—173 days, to be exact—before the movie hits theaters on July 31st.

We’re still not sure exactly what the trailer will show, but it will give fans their first look at what Peter Parker and the others are doing in the new movie. Since it’s expected to be released soon after the trailers for Doomsday, Marvel and Sony are hoping to build a lot of excitement before the film comes out in theaters.
